Back In The Saddle

You can call it a comeback if you'd like. I don't mind.

After the Snitch/Catch My Cat/Turtle debacle I couldn't see my return to the track through the dark bottles of bourbon scattering the landscap of a once scotch filled home. Scotch is for the good times. The pain has subsided, as has the stack of bourbon, and I'm back with a horse, in minority fashion, who I'm counting on to get me back to the tracks that people watch on TV and attend wearing sleeves.

The new guy is a 3 year old named Personal Good out of Personal First and he's undoubtedly been touched by the right hand of God. He's built like a machine, perfect conformation, stands 17 hands tall, solid black, and scares the pants off of any horse unfortunate enouch to leave the same gate he does. This I assume of course. I've never actually seen him, his legs might be shaped like question marks, the jockey might be able to touch the ground on either side, and I can't yet wager a guess as to what color he is. I don't really know. But he's now mine, again in very small part, and I choose to assume he's perfect, all the while inviting anyone and everyone to do the same. He's run 4 times at Calder with a maiden and allowance win, the most recent with a 71 Beyer. I'm realistic enough to know that he probably won't win the Kentucky Derby, but I fully expect him to win the Florida Derby and be a closely beaten second or third as the odds on favorite in the Derby. Under promise over deliver. That's my motto.

Personal Good should show up in high level claiming company within the next few days at Gulfstream with Bill White training him and racing under the silks of "The Posse", which is the name of the partnership. Hope for the best folks, my bourbon supply is low.

I have a Dell Latitude Laptop using Windows XP. I took it to Geek Squad because it was skipping and the freezing up when I played DVDs or any kind of audio. When it freezes I have to turn it off witut shutting it down. It also wouldn't freeze right away..it freezes into about 10 minutes of playing the DVD. It was also making weird noises when it froze. Best Buy informed me that the noise wasn't any hardware issue, but the kind of noise the computer makes when it's frozen. They said nothing was wrong hardware wise, and that I had 6 viruses on the laptop. Well now, all those viruses are removed, and my laptop is still skipping and freezing when I play DVDs..to the point where I have to turn off the computer without shutting it down. Also, now it freezes and makes a weird noises when I'm not playing any audio. If it's not viruses, and geek squad said everything is fine with the computer physically, then what is it?
